Davis High Cross Country Sac-Joaquin subsection meet November 8, 2003 Angels Camp Davis High cross country teams competed yesterday at the Sac-Joaquin subsection meet in Angels Camp. The harriers from Davis continued to demonstrate great depth as they qualified teams into next week’s Sac-Joaquin section championships in all seven divisions. The varsity girls took 2nd place and the varsity boys finished 4th while running at less than full speed in order to conserve strength for the championship meet. As a group, the underclassmen all ran at a high level. The freshman boys and frosh/soph girls were both 2nd in team scoring, while junior varsity girls finished 3rd, sophomore boys 4th, and junior varsity boys 6th. In all, 48 Davis runners will compete at the section meet. Leading the way individually were Kaitlin Gregg (6th varsity girls), Ricky Martin (17th varsity boys), Grace Pettygrove (4th frosh/soph girls), Patrick Lynch (1st freshman boys), Jason Meierhenry (21st sophomore boys), Rachel Cosca (7th junior varsity girls), and Vince Feliz (15th junior varsity boys). The Sac-Joaquin section championships will be held next Saturday at Sierra College.
