November 25, 2007

DHS reserves finals spots

May 19, 2005
Davis High school track coach Spencer Elliot stood in the stands with his team, all of them listening as hard as they had just run. It was moments after the boys 4-by-400 relay team had run the fastest race of their lives, and the quartet waited with teammates to see if they would race again this season.

No Strangers to State

DHS Track runners advance to Section meet

Sunday, May 23, 2004

DHS races to subsection finals - 2004 Subsection trials

|
Thursday, May 20, 2004
Nothing like a trial meet in your own back yard.
It wasn't a huge showing, but Davis High School competed Wednesday at the Sac-Joaquin Section trials meet at Woody Wilson Track.
Ricky Martin exploded for a lifetime best in the 800-meter dash and his time of 1 minute, 57.09 seconds was the best at the trials, moving him on to Friday's finals at UC Davis' historic track. He ran strong and moved into the lead with a little less than 300 meters and had a strong kick to the finish.

DHS on pace - MEL Track vs Vintage

Thursday, April 1, 2004
As the first-year track and field head coach at Davis High School, Spencer Elliott has got his hands full.
Though he has a dependable group of assistants lending a hand, Elliott sometimes has to wear a few different hats. Since the Blue Devils were hosting Vintage in a Monticello Empire League meet on Wednesday, Elliott really didn't have much chance to bark any last-minute instructions at his charges.

October 8, 2002
It's always in their heads.
When Davis High School cross country runners assemble at the starting line of a big meet, they're usually mentally preparing for the race ahead and visualizing the finish line, but a few Blue Devil harriers are stuck on a feeling, or more likely, a chorus.
