Monticello Empire League Center Meet #1 Wednesday, September 28, 2005 Rockville Hills Park, Fairfield Davis High cross country teams competed Wednesday against all their league opponents in an MEL center meet at Fairfield's Rockville Hills Park. The Blue Devils were victorious in three of four races, with the varsity boys, frosh/soph boys, and the frosh/soph girls posting winning scores. The varsity girls were second to league rival Vacaville. Sophomore Kenny Durell led the charge for the varsity boys, finishing in second place behind Napa's Sam Doshier. Patrick Lynch (3rd), Kyle Buchoff (5th), Scott Halliday (6th), and Brendan Gregg (7th) rounded out the team scoring. Sophomore Jonah Weeks was the first DHS finisher for the varsity girls, finishing in fourth place. Teammates Jenna Fritz (6th), Maddie Hall (7th ), Merek Kesser (8th), and Allison Manderfield (9th) were the other four scoring runners for the lady Blue Devils. Sophomore Adam Boone was the winner in the frosh/soph boys race and freshman Emily Dimond took second place in the frosh/soph girls race. The Blue Devils race again on Saturday at the Yolo County Championships at Muller Ranch in Yolo. The meet is co-sponsored by Davis and Woodland High Schools.
