Sacramento Meet of Champions Hughes Stadium 4-29-06 Davis High track athletes posted some great marks at Sacramento's Meet of Champions. The meet features the best athletes from central and northern California and is considered among the ten best in-season high school track meets in the United States. Leading the way were distance runners Chelsea Reilly and Brendan Gregg along with discus thrower Lauren Guerierri. Reilly finished third in the invitational 1600 meters with a season best time of 4:56.42. The race was won by Jordan Hasay of Mission College Prep (San Louis Obispo) in a national prep leading time of 4:43.09. Gregg was fourth in the invitational 3200 meters with a personal best of 9:23.88. Guereirri took second in the invitational discus with a toss of 142 feet 6 inches. In other events, Patrick Lynch and Scott Halliday had lifetime bests in the open 3200 meters with times of 9:41.23 and 9:45.40. Maddie Hall took first place in the open 1600 meters with a time of 5:14.69 and had a lifetime best of 2:21.6 for 800 meters. Ana Jelks jumped to third place in the open girls high jump with a mark of 4 feet 11 inches. Cody Larue's time of 43.71 in the frosh/soph boys 300 meter low hurdles was also a personal best.
