Athletes of the Meet: Patrick Lynch and Kenneth DeSantis Patrick Lynch and Chelsea Reilly led the Davis High varsity cross country teams to convincing victories at the Lagoon Valley Classic on Saturday. Lynch made a strong surge in the last 800 meters of his three mile race for a come from behind win over Woodcreek's Christopher Romo. His time of 15:55 set a new course record for the Lagoon Valley Park course. Reilly battled for over two miles with Hannah Dillard of Chico before pulling away to a solid 12 second victory with a time of 18:27. The Blue Devils dominated team competition at all levels with team victories in varsity boys and girls, junior varsity boys and girls, and freshman boys races. The sophomore boys and frosh/soph girls teams took second place in their races. Individual race winners from Davis were Matt Cosca (frosh boys), Kenneth DeSantis (soph boys), Kyle Buchoff (jv boys), and Allison Manderfield (jv girls). Other top ten finishers were Zach Bonner and Kenny Durell (varsity boys), Adam Boone (jv boys), Antoine Kohl (soph boys), Peter Roush and Bryan Soto (frosh boys), Maddie Hall, Jonah Weeks, and Jenna Fritz (varsity girls), Merek Kesser, Lucy Pagel, Katey Randall, Karen Ding, and Halea Meese (jv girls), and Christina Chew and Christine Bowlus (jv girls). The Blue Devils open Delta Valley Conference competition next Wednesday in Elk Grove.
