9-6-08 Lagoon Valley Park - Vacaville, CA Weather: Hot Davis High Cross Country starts season on winning note! Davis High opened the cross country season at the Lagoon Valley Classic Saturday in Vacaville. Racing in hot and dusty conditions, DHS captured team titles in all seven divisions and had individual winners in six of seven races contested. Girls' winners were Lisa Walters (junior varsity) and Tess Williams (frosh/soph). The varsity girls were led by Hilary Teaford (2nd place) and Juliana Green (4th place). The varsity boys were led by Matt Petersen (1st place) and Drew Petersen (4th place). Other boys' winners were Kenny De Santis (junior varsity), Brian De La Mora (soph), and Ryan Greenough (frosh). Matt Petersen's time of 16:00 was only five seconds shy of the course record of 15:55, which was set by DHS alum, Patrick Lynch, in 2006.
