September 17, 2005 Lagoon Valley Park - Vacaville Click here to link to complete Lagoon Valley Classic results Davis High cross country teams raced Saturday at the Lagoon Valley Classic Invitational in Vacaville. The course is home of two of the most challenging hills in the Sac-Joaquin Section. The two hills, known as Big Mama and Little Sister, were no match for the Blue Devils as they dominated team competition with victories in varsity boys, varsity girls, junior varsity boys, and frosh/soph boys divisions. In addition, the freshman boys were third and the frosh/soph girls were fifth in their respective divisions. The Blue Devils also were on top individually as Brendan Gregg (varsity boys), Chelsea Reilly (varsity girls), Kenny Durell (frosh/soph boys), and Alex McKee-Ota (junior varsity boys) each took first place honors in their races. The story of the day, however was team depth, as 25 different DHS runners received individual medals by virtue of top 20 finishes in their races. The Blue Devils run in their first major meet of the season next Saturday, competing against some of the best teams in the western United States in the large school sweepstakes division at the Stanford Invitational.
