Granite Bay Invitational Willow Hills at Folsom September 3, 2005 The Davis High cross country team opened its 2005 campaign at the Granite Bay Invitational, contested on the Sac-Joaquin Section championship course at Willow Hills in Folsom. The varsity boys led the way with a strong third place finish against nationally ranked Jesuit and a powerful squad from Madera. The varsity girls had a good day as well, finishing sixth in a 20 team field despite running at less than full strength. Individually, Brendan Gregg, Chelsea Reilly, and Jonah Weeks had outstanding season opening races with second, third, and tenth place finishes respectively in the varsity division. The frosh/soph boys were also third as a team. Kenny Durell and Matt Petersen led the frosh/soph boys, taking seventh and eighth places. The Blue Devils compete next at Vacaville High's Lagoon Valley Classic on September 17th.
